Spicy Crockpot Sausage and Potatoes is awesome because well, I have to be honest, this week I have been absolutely miserable. Let’s just say the head cold and allergies have been extra stong for me. But life doesn’t stop even if I am the one who is sick and I still have to feed my kids and keep everything going. So last night I decided to try something new for dinner for myself and the kids. I used the crock pot to make Sausage and Potatoes or quite honestly for extra flavor….I used hot links.
And it turned out to be quite flavorful and delicious. The kids loved it and it is definitely something that we will have from time to time when I am in the mood for something easy to make for dinner. And I will be honest this recipe is four ingredient easy. Five if you decide to top yours with French Fried Onions like I did.
Spicy Slow Cooker Sausage and Potatoes Recipe
- 1.5 lbs of hot links (I prefer the Earl Campbell brand) or smoked sausage if you want a milder version.
- 2.5 lbs russet potatoes washed and chopped, it's your choice if you want to peel them or not.
- 1 10.5 oz can of cream of chick soup
- 1 tsp creole seasoning
- French Fried onions for topping (this is a preference thing and completely optional)
- Place ingredients minus the French Fried Onions in crockpot / slow cooker and stir.
- Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 3.5 hours
It’s that easy to make a delicious main dish that your family will enjoy that can be served with some of your favorite sides such as rolls and broccoli.
